Kaikawala Central awarded a Gold Star

Kaikawela Central College, Matale under 14 stickers were awarded a Gold Star in group “B” at the girls All Island Hockey tournament, organised and conducted by the Sri-Lanka Schools Hockey Association, played at the Hindu National School ground and Edward Park, Matale last week.

In their group , they beat Thanna Vidyalaya, Matale by one goal to nil and drew the rest of the matches against St. Anthony’s Balika Vidyalaya, Kandy, Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo and St. Paul’s Milagiriya , Colombo nil all to emerge Champions.

The under 14 stickers has to be thankful to the Principal for supporting them to take up the Sport Hockey at this young age and with the co-operation from the MIC, Damithi Amarasekara and the guidance from the Coaches Shiroma Athurapana and Nilakshi Attanayake enabled these youngsters to achieve this award and bring the name of the School to a state of recognition in Schools Hockey. Capt. ) , Pabasara Bandara, Vimarsha Devmini, Naduni Ratnayaka, Kasuni Bandara, Miushi Ranasinha, Vinodya Wijeratne, Nimsara Aberatne, Manisha Bashani, Sarsi Imesha, Tishani Chanmini and Adithya Bandara.
