National Savings Bank Kalutara branch staff members were engaged in a beach cleaning programme on December 16, from 9.00 am to 12 noon.
Plastic bottles, youghurt cups, decayed parts of trees, glass pieces and other waste items were collected and separated into four different bags and transported by the Kalutara Municipal Council to the Kalutara dumping yards.
About three kilo metres of the beach stretch of the Kalutara South Railway Station was cleaned under this programme.
National Savings Bank Kalutara South Branch Chief Manager K.V. Waruna S. Darshana, with staff members and members of the Senior Citizens Club of the Bank participated at the programme.
