Kandy District League Hockey tourney

On Saturday and Sunday it was two good days of hockey at the Peradeniya University grounds where sixteen matches were played and the rest of the matches will be played later,This was Kandy District Hockey Association league “A” and “B” division tournament. On both days the hockey presented by Kandy school products was excellent and made the entire crowd happy. In the first game Old Kingswood “B beat Menikdiwela SC by 6 goals to nil, Vidyartha “B” beat Old Rajans “B” by 6 goals to nil, KH & F C beat Asgiriya SC by 6 goals to nil, Sylvestrian SC beat Old Sylvestrian SC by4 goals to nil, Old Kingswood “A” beat Old Rajans “A” by 3 goals to nil,

Old Vidyartha “B” beat Manikdiwela SC by 3 goals to nil, KH & FC beat Old Vidyartha by 2 goals to nil, The Old Kingswood vs Old Sylverstrains SC game ended in a one all draw This was Saturdays matches and on Sunday Old Kingswood “B” vs Old Vidyartha “B” game ended in a one all draw,

Menikdiwela SC “B” beat Old Rajans “B” 1-0, Old Kingswood beat KH & FC 4-1, Asgiriya SC beat Hindu SC 2- 1, Old Sylverstrian SC beat Old Vidyartha HC 1-0, KH & FC beat Old Rajans 1-0, Old Kingswood beat Old Rajans “B” 2-1, Old Sylvestrains SC beat Asgiriya SC 3-0, All in all it was a great effort by the Kandy District Hockey Association headed by Dr. R. Maheswaran to organize this tournament and keep the game up at club level over here in Kandy.
