Keheliya takes breather until Court case is over

Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella announced in Kandy yesterday (13)that he would temporarily step away from politics until a Court verdict is reached on his ongoing legal case.

Rambukwella made this revelation during a gathering held at the Oak Ray Hotel in Rajasinghe Mawatha in Kandy, where he informed his supporters of his decision to temporarily leave politics.

He expressed his strong belief that justice would be served in his favour by the Courts and said he hopes to re-enter politics as an innocent man. He emphasised that his decision to step back is not due to any political misfortune but is being made while he still enjoys strong public support.

Rambukwella also highlighted that, as a businessman, the public love he has earned through his political career holds more value than the wealth he has amassed through his business endeavours.
