Kelaniya University security officer assaulted

The Kiribathgoda Police have started an investigation to arrest a group of students of Kelaniya University who kidnapped a security officer and assaulted him inside a gymnasium in the university. A 42-year-old security officer who is a resident of Piliyandala has been abducted and assaulted by the university students.

This security officer was abducted Saturday (2) while he was sleeping in the dormitory for the security officers of the university. A Police officer said that the investigation revealed that he was attacked over an incident where the security officer had allegedly given his phone number to a university student’s mother.

Police say that the security officer who was injured in the attack is in hospital and the attackers have being identified.
