Kudu Salindu’s associate arrested with two pistols

An associate of Salindu Malshitha Gunaratne, also known as Kudu Salindu, an underworld criminal and drug trafficker who was brought to Sri Lanka

from Madagascar and is being investigated under arrest warrant, was arrested yesterday Monday (24) with two firearms.

He was arrested following revelations made by Kudu Salindu who is being interrogated by the police.

The suspect is a 21-year-old man named Amila Sudheera, a resident of Panadura Dombagahawatta area.It has been suspected that these two weapons were used to shoot at an ambulance driver at Panadura Ketumathi Hospital on January 27, 2022. The ambulance driver was shot at by a group of four on two motorcycles. One of the firearms had not fired and when the second weapon was fired, the driver had fled and was able to escape from any harm.

The ambulance driver was shot following a contract given by Kudu Salindu who was in Dubai at the time. The driver of the Ambulance too is said to an associate of Salindu but later he is said to have tipped the police regarding a drug smuggling incident involving Salindu.
