Lankem to invest Rs. 1.5 Bn. in fertilizer plant

Lankem Ceylon PLC (the Company) has embarked on establishing a Fertilizer Plant.

The phase 1 of this project will be set up in Oyamaduwa in the Anuradhapura district and the capital investment and the initial working capital requirement is estimated at Rs. 2.5 Bn.

Commercial operations are expected to commence by the end of the year.

A new company, Lankem Minerals Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of Lankem Ceylon PLC, has been incorporated on 31October 2023 to carry out the said Project.

The primary objective of this operation is to cater to the agricultural requirement of the non-perennial crops.

The sales and distribution of the fertilizer will be carried out by Lankem Ceylon PLC and its fully-owned subsidiary SunAgro LifeScience Limited through the companies’ existing distributor network.
