Lawyer bailed for poisoning another lawyer’s pet dog

Kesbewa Magistrate’s Court yesterday bailed a female lawyer who was arrested in connection with a case of poisoning a pet dog in another lawyer’s house. She released on a surety bail of 500,000 rupees. The police informed the court that the suspected lawyer was arrested based on the information revealed during the investigations carried out following a complaint made by the lawyer to the Kahathuduwa police that his dog was poisoned.

According to the CCTV footage installed in the house of the lawyer who lodged the complaint, following investigations based on a car that came near the main gate of the plaintiff lawyer’s house, the female lawyer had been arrested in connection with the incident. The case is scheduled to be called again on July 6.
