SriLankan Airlines has made arrangements to introduce a local meal to SriLankan passengers. The company says it will provide a nutritious meal typical of Sri Lanka on board. This local meal is expected to be gradually introduced to SriLankan Airlines in the near future.
The meal was introduced recently at the Serendib Hall at the Katunayake Airport. The Chief Guest of the event was Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga.
Minister Ranatunga said that a tourist arriving in Sri Lanka gets their first experience of Sri Lanka on a SriLankan Airlines flight and it was a timely move to give them the experience of a local cuisine.
S Hettiarachchi, Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Janaka Sri Chandragupta, Secretary to the Ministry of Airports and Export Processing Zones , Ashok Pathirage, Chairman of SriLankan Airlines, Upul Dharmadasa, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority and Rajiv Sooriyarachchi, Vice Chairman of the Airport Airlines were also present.
