London based RIUNIT says hope for Sri Lanka among business community
The Research Intelligence Unit (RIUNIT), a London based research and consulting firm during their latest Sri Lankan business community survey says that there is some hope for Sri Lanka amongst the business community in the notion that India and China will help to mitigate the overall global dip in foreign direct investment (FDI).
“This fits in well with forecasts by the majority of international development agencies that Asia as a whole and South Asia more specifically will serve as the engines of economic growth in the coming years.”
On the issue of elections, a very large number of survey respondents expressed uncertainty. In fact, uncertainty was a key feature of the entire survey where the majority of respondents could not express a view with any degree of certainty due to the current geo-political environment as well as domestic circumstances.
The survey was done in order to incorporate the views of the business community on their expectations of future economic growth as well as wider concerns of people in the country, including geo-political concerns.
Over 82% of people surveyed considered that the ongoing military action by Israel in the Palestinian territories amounts to committing genocidal crimes. The Research Intelligence Unit is a consulting ‘think tank’ and research house with a 21-year presence in Sri Lanka.more information could be obtained from: info@riunit.com
