Lorry with Brake Failure Crashes into Shop in Hemmathagama

A lorry with malfunctioning brakes crashed into a shop in Hemmathagama town around 9:45 a.m. today (03), narrowly avoiding harm to passengers on the road.

The vehicle, which had traveled from Gampola, experienced brake failure while descending a steep hill near Hemmathagama, leading to the accident. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
