Madampe town tense after bus hits three bikes

A tense situation prevailed in the Madampe, Chilaw area Monday after a private passenger bus that hit three people including a school child tried to flee after the accident.

Later angry crowds attacked the bus at Madampe old town in Chilaw.

This accident occurred when a bus travelling from Puttalam to Colombo was about to overtake another bus in the Madampe, Old Town area.

The speeding bus collided with three motorcycles, and then hit three people including a child who were injured and rushed to Chilaw Hospital. Madampe Police had to call additional officers from Chilaw and Thoduwawa Police stations. The bus driver was arrested by Madampe Police.
