Majority downloading NPP manifesto are SJB supporters – Handunnetti
NPP Executive Committee member Sunil Handunnetti yesterday said that the majority of people who are downloading the NPP political manifesto are Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) supporters.
He said that the SJB manifesto which was scheduled to be launched on August 22 was postponed until NPP manifesto is launched. He was addressing an election rally to ensure the victory of NPP Presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake in Kantale, on Tuesday.
“Those who claimed that NPP has no proper programme, and they can’t run a government, have become speechless, he said. Handunnetti said that the SJB does not have a vision nor it has proper programme of work. “NPP is the only party that has presented a comprehensive manifesto that can drive the country to an unprecedented development”, he said
He added that Trincomalee oil tanks play a crucial role in bolstering our national energy production plan. As a government, we are committed to taking necessary measures to refurbish the tankes in a manner that will be beneficial to the people. Additionally, the Trincomalee port holds a unique position globally due to its strategic location.”
Also, former rulers failed to provide our country with the opportunity to earn foreign exchange from the mineral resources by adjusting to a new production method based on the value added by the ilmenite depository.
