Seven out of the 13 MPs elected to Parliament from the Kandy district in the last General Election have extended their support to President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the upcoming Presidential Election.
MPs Dilum Amunugama, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Lohan Ratwatte, Anuradha Jayaratne, Gunathilaka Rajapaksha and Udayana Kirindigoda who were elected to Parliament representing SLPP and Velu Kumar, MP, from the SJB have declared that they will support President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Presidential Election.
Keheliya Rambukwella, who is currently in remand, has not yet made a statement regarding whom he is going to support.
SLPP MP Wasantha Yapa has pledged support to Sajith Premadasa and Professor Ranjith Bandara who was elected from the national list is supporting Namal Rajapaksa.
Sajith Premadasa has the support of Lakshman Kiriella, Rauf Hakeem and M.H.M. Haleem, who were elected to Parliament from the Kandy district representing the SJB.
