The ongoing investigation into the discovery of three deceased Sri Lankans in a house in Jalan Perhentian Kampung Kovil Hilir, Sentul in Malaysia, saw a significant development as the detained couple’s remand got extended recently.
The couple, both originally from Sri Lanka and in their 40s, were initially held in custody for interrogation for a week following the discovery.
Probing the case further, the City Police Chief, Allaudeen Abdul Majid, announced that the couple’s remand has been extended until October 6. The investigators, who are yet to find any leads, continue their inquiry into the circumstances surrounding this event.
The series of events began unravelling on the night of September 22, when eerie sounds believed to be battle cries led to the unexpected revelation of three lifeless bodies in a house. All three bodies, identified as Sri Lankan males, were discovered in a bound state with their hands and feet tied together, and their heads carefully wrapped in plastic sheets.
Crafting a chilling tableau, the corpses were stacked atop one another inside the storeroom of the house. Amid the horrifying scene where they found all bodies, one stood out, being completely denuded. Yet, there is still mystery lingering over the circumstances of the horrific event.
The seemingly quiet community came into stark focus when the local law enforcement received a distress call from local citizens.
The call was about a tumultuous ruckus from the premises of a four-storied shop house. On responding to the call, the terrifying truth of the three bodies surfaced, leading to a full-fledged Police inquiry.
The Sri Lankan couple, who were living at the rented house, were arrested following the revelation. As the details continue to emerge, one of the deceased is believed to be the son of the arrested pair – an aspect extending the degree of this intricate case.
The Police launched a manhunt for two additional suspects believed to be connected to the case. Their pursuit led them towards a forest in Hulu Langat, Selangor, where they located the individuals.
As the faint threads of this heinous crime start to intertwine, the case continues to unravel under the magnifying lens of the Police.
The investigation is being executed with utmost sincerity under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. The implication of this violation is profound, carrying severe penal consequences. – BNN
