Man arrested for sexually abusing girl in Ingiriya

A 67-year-old man who sexually abused an 11-year-old girl after handing over 100 rupees to her has been arrested by the Ingiriya Police yesterday (24).

During the interrogation, it was revealed that this man was a permanent resident of the Ampara area and was presently living temporarily at his parents’ home, which was just a few houses away from the abused girl’s house.

The suspect had deceived the young girl by handing over one hundred rupees to her and even though she refused the money, the suspect had managed to convince her to come out of her home and take her out with him.

The sexually abused girl has been admitted to the hospital for examinations.Ingiriya Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
