Man kills goat farmer, irked over crop damage

A 34-year-old man was arrested by the police for murdering a 74-year-old goat farmer, after goats damaged his cultivations. 

The deceased has been identified as Kiran Krishnapillay (74) a resident of Kalladivetitei.

A 34-year-old resident of Mavadivembu named Kandan has been arrested by Valachchenai Police on suspicion of the murder. The police said both are neighbours and Kandan had attacked Krishnapillay after the latter’s goats damaged his cultivations. Police are investigating.
