Man kills wife over snoring in Gampola

Kurunduwatte Police on Tuesday arrested a husband (65) who had allegedly killed his wife (43) by assaulting her with a wooden handle of a mammoty. The man had gotten angry that his wife, who was suffering from paralysis, was snoring in sleep and had assaulted her. The woman, a mother of three children aged 6,9 and 14, succumbed to her injuries after admission to Gampola Hospital. She was a resident of Udahenthenna, Suhadagama.

The police said that there had been frequent family disputes between them. It was the second marriage of them both.
