Man selling cannabis through FB ads arrested in Medawachchiya

Medavachchiya Police arrested an illegal trafficker of cannabis-mixed narcotic drug called Madana Modaka online, targeting schoolchildren through Facebook ads.

A 25-year-old resident of Ataweeragollewa, Medawachchiya has been arrested.Police say that the suspect was running a courier service in Medawachchiya.

Acting according to the loopholes in the law, these traffickers have targeted schoolchildren and other buyers in towns such as Medawachchiya, Kahatagasdigiliya, Horowpotana and Kebithigollewa. The suspect was arrested on January 8 based on information received by Medawachchiya Police Station OIC R.M.I.B. Ratnayake.

The OIC said that he would not hesitate to enact the law against such people.
