The Anti-Corruption Bill, which includes provisions to prevent corruption, fraud and bribery in the country, was presented to Parliament yesterday by Justice, Prisons Affairs and Constitutional Reforms Minister Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.
The debate on this Bill is scheduled to be held in the coming days.
Then the Parliamentary Secretary General Dhammika Dassanayake read the sections of the Act before the House.
He said that this Bill will be presented to establish an Independent Commission to prosecute bribery and corruption offences, to take measures to prevent corruption and to educate people to eliminate corruption.
