More than 2000 athletes for Mercantile meet

More than 2000 athletes from 48 Mercantile firms will take part at the 37 Mercantile Athletic championship which will be held this weekend (5-6) at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo .
The President of the Mercantile Athletic Federation (MAF) Prasanna Indika said MAF which is affiliated to Sri Lanka Athletics was established in 1983 for the benefit of talented athletes in Mercantile sector and this meet is conducting every year and after lapse of two years this time Sri Lanka Mobitel has come forward to give their hands as main sponsor while Ceylon Biscuits Ltd the makers of Munchee, David Piers Motor Company and Allianz Insurance Lanka Ltd also come forward as gold sponsors of this event which conducted by MAF.
