MP’s rights infringements: PSC recommendations passed

The resolution for the implementation of the recommendations of the Parliament Select Committee (PSC) to investigate incidents of infringement of privileges of the Members of Parliament and of the Parliament and to make suitable recommendations in that regard was passed  in Parliament yesterday by a majority of 32 votes.

There were 75 votes in favour of the motion and only forty-three votes against it.

The Samagi Jana Balavegaya voted against the resolution.

The debate on the resolution was held yesterday in Parliament.

There were heated arguments during the debate.
