Thirty Nine year old, Muditha Tharanga Wijekoon, former old boy of Dharmaraja College, Kandy is one of the finest opening batsmen produced by the School in the Nineties as a Right hand bat and right arm leg spinner.Muditha started his cricket career in the School at Junor level to Senior level under the coaching of Chandrasiri Bandara, Priyantha Weragoda and AnandaWijesekera. At present Muditha is the Treasurer of the School Cricket Foundation.

He showed his real class as an opening Batsman as the Captain of the School first eleven Cricket team and so far he was the only School Cricket captain to win the All Island Division One Limited over Cricket tournament held in the year 2002. For this achievement he was awarded the College Dagoba the highest award in that year and re-awarded the same in 2003.
In the 2000/2001 cricket season he scored 652 runs at an average of 31 including 101 not out against Royal and it is the first century scored by a Rajan against Royal College. In 2001/2002 season he scored 923 runs in 15 matches an average being 44 including hundreds against Maliyadewa College 137 not out and 124 against Sri Sumangala, Panadura and three fifties. In 2002/2003 cricket season he scored 824 runs in fourteen matches the average being 40. One hundred against Nalanda College 105 and six fifties.
After leaving school he started club cricket and playing in the Under Twenty three team in the Year 2006 he received the All Island Best Batsman Award while leading the Kandy Cricket Club Team with a total score of 616 – average being 68. Double hundred (200 against Kurunegala CC and One hundred against Matugama CC (119 and three fifties). Again in 2005 he was playing cricket for the Kandy CC and played five matches and the total score 475 at an average 68. Against Ambalangoda Rio CC (203 not out) One hundred against St. Servatius (137).
Then he started playing for the Kandy Youth Cricket Club at the Sara Trophy Cricket tournament. And some of his achievements were, in 2010 he scored One Hundred against Nugegoda SC (110 & 3 fifties).
In the year 2009 he scored Three fifties in the season and he started playing Provincial Cricket and he was the Vice-Captain of the Kandy District team against Afghanistan National Team in 2010.
Represented Central Province team against West Indies National team in 2005 and Captain of the Central province Under 19 Team against Bangaladesh National Team in 2003.
Next he started Mercantile Cricket and he scored 150 against Slimline CC cricket team in 2005.
Represented Unichela CC team from 2006 to 2012. At present he is working at MAS Intimates (Pvt) Ltd. as an accountant and still continuing playing cricket for the Old Rajans Cricket team.
