The official launch of 18th annual ‘National Business Excellence 2022 Awards (NBEA) will be held on Friday December 16, at 10 a.m. at National Chamber Auditorium, Colombo 10.
This year too the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon (Lake House) will be the Print Media sponsor for the event.
Organized by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka and one of the eagerly awaited Business Excellence Benchmark Competitions, 92 awards will be presented this year to winners for categories in Extra Large, Large, Medium, Small and Micro and diversified industry sectors. The National Chamber after recognizing the current evolving trends and situation in the country such as the agile nature of strategies to address the disruptive nature of the business environment, pandemic and other socio-political and economic issues, considered the weightage adjustment to give a high emphasis to recovery efforts of the organizations.
The emerging trends such as adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasis on reduction of carbon emission, transforming nature of workplace, increasing tendency of capital is getting attracted to trusted, ethical, environmentally friendly, socially responsible and with sound governance structure (ESG) and the purpose of the institutions more align towards creating long term sustainability and creating value for all in the society and not restricting to selected few are among some of the aspects incorporate into the structure of the application leading NBEA. The National Chamber appointed select Committee headed by Sunil G Wijesinha, Chairman, Panel of Judges of NBEA, Nandika Buddhipala, President of the National Chamber, Manil Jayesinghe, Country Managing Partner E & Y, Sanath Fernando, Chairman of the Technical and Financial Evaluation Panel of NBEA and Partner, Assurance, at E & Y, and Priyantha Hearth Director/CEO – PNB Holdings (Pvt) Ltd to revive the National Business Excellence Awards application in order to accompany such important emerging trends.
