Nawaz released from duty due to injury

Sri Lanka Cricket team assistant Coach Naveed Nawaz has been released from the squad in order to give him time to recover from an injury he sustained during a team practice session.

According to the SLC official, A ball, which stuck Nawaz, resulted in a cut on his upper lip, which required stitches.

Nawaz sustained the injury on the pre-match day practice session on July 23 day prior to the second Test match.

Nawaz the former National player as well as Bangladesh under 19 World Cup winning team coach later joined with SLC as a Assistant coach to the Chris Silverwood. He also doing dual part as a specialized batting coach to the National team.
