Negombo Divisional Secretary hangs himself

Negombo Divisional Secretary Ayesh Perera (42) died by hanging himself at his official residence near Udayar Toppuwa Negombo Veterinary Office. 

The Negombo Police said that the forty-two-year-old Divisional Secretary had hanged himself inside his house this morning.

The wife of the deceased Divisional Secretary had given birth to their first child the other day and the child had died.The wife has been hospitalized due to the shock, ever since then. It is said that the wife had been preparing for this delivery for some time and she had become depressed when the child died.

It is known that the Divisional Secretary had been suffering pain of

mind as a result. The Negombo Police are conducting further investigations into the incident and a post-mortem is scheduled to be conducted.at the Negombo Hospital.
