New Education Secretary assumes duties

Senior state officer Thilaka Jayasundara who has been appointed as the new Education Secretary, started her work in the Ministry this morning.

Jayasundara, a special grade officer in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, has received the Commonwealth Excellence Awards in 2021 for State Performance and Management. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Bsc) and a Master of Business Administration (MPA) from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura and a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (PGDIT) from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT).
