NHSL worker arrested with heroin in Katunayake

Police said Katunayake Police Criminal Investigation Department officers arrested a woman working as a health assistant at the Colombo National Hospital with a stock of heroin on Wednesday.

Although this employee aged 38 was a resident of Kalinga Ela, Polonnaruwa, it was revealed during initial police investigations that at present she has rented out a house at Katunayake and is living there with another man.

According to the police, heroin had been wrapped and put separately into small containers as packets together with a cream named ‘Yellow Girl’ which she herself makes.Police took into custody five grams and 200 milligrams of heroin valued at about Rs. 2.5 million hidden in these cream containers.
