NPP is not a force but a spent force – Attanayake

Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB) National Organiser Tissa Attanayake said that the National People’s Power (NPP) is trying to portray that it is a force to be reckoned with, but the people know that they are only a spent force.  

Attanayake said that the JVP does not have any mass support and the people have not forgotten the damage caused by them to the country’s economy during the 1971 and 1988 armed insurrections.

He also said that if the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) engages in a real political propaganda programme aimed at the election,the NPP will be thrown aside. He said only the SJB and NPP are actively engaged in campaigning for the Local Government polls and added using this fact the NPP is trying to create an image that they can be competitive.
