NPP lacks vision for the country – K.K. Piyadasa

New Democratic Front Nuwara Eliya District candidate K.K. Piyadasa voiced concerns that if the current government continues to govern as it has in the past 42 days, former President Ranil Wickremesinghe and his team may once again be tasked with leading the country within a year.

Piyadasa was speaking at a campaign rally held recently in Maskeliya town.

Speaking further, he said: “When we look at the government led by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, it is clear they lack a proper plan and vision to move the country forward. The nation is spiralling into deeper trouble every day. At this rate, in another six months, it may be necessary for Ranil Wickremesinghe to step in once again. This isn’t about wanting to overthrow the President – we are not engaged in that kind of politics. But we do have a genuine concern for the country’s well-being.

“Regarding the economic crisis, our actions must align with the global community. From now on, we need to talk about how to engage with the Paris Club, the International Monetary Fund, China, and India.”
