NSB ranked among Top 10 Women Friendly Workplaces in Sri Lanka for fourth consecutive year

Women Friendly Workplace Awards (WFWP Awards) fourth edition jointly pioneered by Satynmag.com and CIMA Sri Lanka was held recently at the Courtyard by Marriott Colombo with the participation of Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aruni Wijewardaneas the Chief Guest and other distinguished guests.

The Satynmag.com CIMA WFWP Awards have created a tremendous interest in uplifting the role of women in Sri Lankan workplaces and empowering them for organisational, societal and economic development. The Awards have fostered an enhanced awareness of the need for a women-friendly, enabling, equitable and inclusive workplace culture.

In that view, ten outstanding organisations were awarded as Women Friendly Workplaces including the National Savings Bank (NSB). A distinguished panel of judges judged the awards to ensure a fair and accurate result.

The Women Friendly Workplace 2024 Award was received from the Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sri Lanka, Aruni Wijewardane by the GM/CEO, Shashi Kandambi, Devika Silva (DGM Treasury and International Banking), Anusha Fernando (DGM – HRD) and Karnika Jayatilake (DGM – Legal) of NSB.

NSB, is one of the leading banks in Sri Lanka, always believes that banks have a substantial role in empowering women in all aspects. NSB encourages and empowers women in the Bank by providing enormous opportunities to provide a better service to the nation while being successful in the role that they play at the home front as well.

NSB encourages women in the society by supporting them to inculcate the habit of saving and thereby to be financially independent and shoulder the multiple responsibilities entrusted to her as a woman with confidence.

The workforce, with a 55% of female contribution, ensures the growth of the Bank while NSB empowers young female employees to drive the Bank towards its success, provided that 65% of the workforce between 18 and 35 years of ages comprisesof female employees.

With the recognition of Women Friendly Workplace, the NSB continues to maintain gender equality in the workplace and encourages women in all aspects to be financially independent to fulfill their dreams. Further, the NSB reiterates its commitment to SDG 05, which covers gender equality and opportunity.
