OIC gave boiled Cannabis water to WPC

A senior Police officer from the Sevanagala Police area, who has been accused of allegedly molesting and attempting to rape an apprentice Women’s Police Constable (WPC) will shortly surrender to the Police Children and Women’s Bureau, Police sources said.

Investigations have revealed that the Police Officer who is currently on leave has been allegedly harassing the female Police Constable for a long time.

Following the Women’s Police Constable ’s complaint to the Children’s and Women’s Bureau, investigations were initiated and further information revealed that the suspect had gone on leave and the Police have not been able to locate the Police officer’s whereabouts.

The Women’s Police Constable had told the Police Children and Women’s Bureau that she was given boiled water mixed with Cannabis by the said officer saying that it would increase her strength. She had said that the suspected officer too had consumed the brew. She had also complained to the Children and Women’s Bureau about the alleged molestation after she was transferred from Sevanagala to another Police station.
