One killed, two injured in shooting at Midigama

One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting incident at a fish stall in Midigama, Matara, this morning.

Police said the two unidentified gunmen, who arrived on a motorcycle, had opened fire at a person who was at a fish market in the Goviyapana area in the Midigama police area this morning (19) and had fled the scene..

Investigations have revealed that the murder was carried out on the directive of an underworld figure operating overseas.

Further investigations are being conducted by the Midigama Police.
