Open Verdict into showroom manager’s death

Athurugiriya Police said that a manager of a flooring stone showroom who was sleeping in his temporary accommodation after drinking alcohol after a birthday party has died mysteriously.

Police say that the deceased, Indika Roshan (47) is a resident of Mahagedara Watte, Morawa.

It is said that this person worked as a manager of a flooring stone showroom located in the centre of Athurugiriya Town and that a birthday party of another employee was held in the same showroom on the day of his death.

Police say that a group of 15 friends had attended the party and had consumed alcohol along with Roshan.

After the party ended, it is said that the deceased with another friend had gone to his room which is adjacent to the shop where he works.

When the friend woke up early the next morning, he saw the deceased lying face down on the bed covered in blood and vomit. Upon admittance to hospital the doctors had pronounced him dead.

An Open Verdict has been given at the Post Mortem examination and further analysis of his body parts are to be done.
