Opposition spreading rumours on elections – Madura

Parliamentarian Madura Vithanage says that the Opposition is spreading rumours that the government is postponing the elections.

He was speaking at a press conference held at the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) head office yesterday. “All these Parties have jointly appointed a special Parliamentary Advisory Committee to amend the election laws and formulate election laws suitable for the country,”he said.

“The way this election will be conducted in the future will be discussed. But the members of the same Committee come out to be popular and tell big stories.

There is still no consensus among the Parties on holding this election”, he said.
