Opposition wants three day debate – Kiriella

Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella yesterday said the Opposition would continue to protest against the Speaker for not agreeing to hold a three-day debate on the President’s throne speech.

Kiriella stated that the Opposition will be protesting against the Speaker even when the President was in the House to deliver the Throne Speech.

He added that under the Standing Orders of Parliament, there is a possibility of such a protest being raised by raising Questions of Rules.
