Over 80% Hambantota district LG members united to confirm President’s victory – Minister

Nine Chairmen and 80 percent of the Local Government members in Hambantota District’s 12 Municipal Councils and Regional Councils expressed their agreement to work hard to confirm the victory of the President Ranil Wickremesinghe in this Presidential Election.

The group expressed their support and expressed their agreement to work at a meeting held at Beliatta Soratha Hall chaired by Agriculture and Plantation Industry Minister Mahinda Amaraweera recently (6). Among this group are MPs representing Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Sri Lanka Eksath Podujana Peramuna and United National Party.

Agriculture and Plantation Industry Minister Mahinda Amaraweera appreciated the mission done by President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the last two years to recover the country’s economy and said that everyone in the country should support him in this Presidential Election.

The President did a great service of work for the country in fifty years of his politics. He never played name board politics. Also, there were things in his politics that we did not agree with. But in the last two years, he showed the world the maturity of his leadership.

Ranil Wickramasinghe is the only leader who can work to save this country from the current economic bankruptcy. The other candidates do not have such a vision or agenda. They are contested the Presidential Election according to the artificial political wave. But they do not have the vision, experience or real programme to govern a country.

“We are not yet completely out of economic bankruptcy. This is like eating curd with a razor blade. It’s like walking on a sharp knife. If we do not take decisions with good conscience, this country will fall again. In order to continue the current situation, a leader who understands the challenge should be appointed to the Presidency of the country,”he said.

“Today, the majority of people in the country understand that Ranil Wickremesinghe is the most suitable person for that. 80 percent of the Local Government members of Hambantota district are together to win the President today. The Minister said that it is also a pleasure to have all nine chairmen of the 12 Local Government agencies join us,”he said.
