Parliament informs EC of vacant seat of demise MP Nandasena

The Acting Secretary General of Parliament, Mr. Chaminda Kularathna has informed the Chairman of the Election Commission in a letter that a Parliamentary seat in the Ninth Parliament has become vacant from the 04th April 2024, following the demise of Member of Parliament Hon. H. Nandasena, representing the Anuradhapura Constituency.

The Acting Secretary General has further mentioned that this notification is made in terms of the Section 64(1) of the Parliamentary Elections Act No. 1 of 1981.
