It has been found that controversial Pastor Jerome Fernando, who left the country after making a statement insulting Buddhism, has 18,000 active followers.

It is anticipated that the number of inactive followers is two or three times higher.

Investigations have revealed that the majority of active members are those with the ability to influence society, with several representatives from the highest levels among them. According to the official, they include representatives from all sectors.

The Criminal Investigation Department’s Illegal Assets Investigation Division has also launched a separate probe into Pastor Fernando’s money laundering.
