PC dies in three-wheeler, train collision

A Police Constable attached to the Special Task Force Headquarters died when the three-wheeler he drove collided with a train at the Enderamulla railway crossing on Sunday night.

The Police said the three-wheeler had entered the railway crossing despite the bell and lights operating  to alert the on-coming train. The crossing had no rail gates.

The deceased, Channa Nilanga (32) was also a member of the boxing team.

He was a resident of Watareka, Padukka and was alone in the three-wheeler at the time of the accident. The three-wheeler had collided with an express train operating from Kandy to Colombo.
