US: A pet duck led Police to crack the case of a missing North Carolina grandmother who disappeared over two years ago.
This then led to murder charges against the victim’s granddaughter and grandson-in-law, officials said.
Angela Wamsley, 46, and Mark Alan Barnes, 50, had been under investigation in connection to Sullivan’s death, Aaron Sarver, Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, said. They were first arrested on charges spanning animal cruelty and drug possession but by December 21, Barnes was charged with concealing a death and Wamsley received the same charge on January 7, 2021, according to BCSO.
A pet duck dashed under a trailer in Chandler, North Carolina, on April 14 which led its owners to discover a container holding Nellie Sullivan’s body, the sheriff’s office confirmed to NBC News.
