Petrol bomb attack in Achchuveli, one held

Police identified six suspects who had attacked a house in Achchuveli with a petrol bomb and hacked a woman in the house and fled.

One of the six suspects were arrested on Wednesday (19).

This attack took place on Tuesday (18) night and the suspect arrested is a 24-year-old resident of Puttur.

The injured woman, who is 42 year old, is being treated at the Jaffna Hospital.

Achchuveli Police said that this incident occurred due to the injured woman’s daughter living with her after separating from her husband.

Police received information that the daughter’s husband was also among the six suspects who came to attack the house.

The suspect arrested is to be presented before the Mallakam Magistrate’s Court and investigations are underway to arrest the rest of the suspects.
