The Philippines has announced a four-day work week for government offices as part of measures to reduce energy consumption amid rising global fuel prices linked to tensions in the Middle East.
According to international media reports, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said the new arrangement will begin on Monday and apply to government offices as the country seeks to manage the impact of higher energy costs.
The move is aimed at cutting electricity use and reducing fuel consumption, including travel to and from workplaces, as global oil prices remain volatile.
Authorities said essential services and frontline government operations will continue under normal working arrangements.
