Piliyandala shed motherboard stolen from Ceypetco

A senior official of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) said that the motherboard that was illegally attached to the petrol fuel pump of the Piliyandala, Bokundara Co-operative Society filling station was an item stolen from the Petroleum Corporation.

The officer said that the motherboards issued by the Ceypetco have a special mark and it was recognised by that mark.

The official also said that it is clear that it has been continuously used for fraudulent activities like this.

It is the responsibility of the regional administrator to insert the motherboard given by Ceypetco to the relevant fuel pumps of the gas station and seal it properly. However this officer neglected his duty and failed to seal it properly which made it easier for the electrician to easily insert the motherboard he had brought into the fuel pump.

The senior officer said that it was further revealed during the investigation that the regional administrator had also supported the fraudulent act by not sealing the fuel pump properly. Further sources also revealed that several motherboards attached to fuel pumps have been missing from the Ceypetco for the past period and they may have been also used for fraudulent activities like this.
