0 7

The Police launched the revamped ‘TELL IGP’ (Tell the Inspector General) and ‘I-need’ services yesterday (06) at the Police Headquarters presided over by Acting IGP Priyantha Weerasuriya. The Police have implemented these projects with the aim of swiftly responding to the problems of the public. The Police said that the ‘TELL IGP’ project has enabled the public to submit complaints, comments and suggestions directly to the IGP, the Police Media Division said.

Using the ‘TELL IGP’ service, the public can make complaints 24/7 regarding matters that should be brought directly to the attention of the IGP, complaints that are not being investigated by Police stations, and wrongdoings committed by Police officers. According to the Police Media Division these complaints will be investigated promptly and necessary action will be taken.

Meanwhile, the ‘I-need’ service has made it possible to file a complaint online by providing information about a lost phone without having to go to the Police in the event of a mobile phone being misplaced. If a person is using a lost phone, the complainant is also notified about it through this service.

These services can be accessed by visiting the official website www.police.lk and accessing the ‘TELL IGP’ and ‘I-need’ services through the E-Services and that complaints can be filed 24 hours a day.
