Police protection for couple’s pet dog

A Chief Inspector of the Bandaragama Police had deployed a Constable to take away the dog from the Millaniya home of the couple who is suspected to have given protection to Buru Muna who is responsible for 13 murders including the murder of the owner of the Hanwella restaurant, a senior Police officer said.

This suspect had escaped from Police custody at the Katunayake airport.The suspect was handed over to the Katunayake Airport Police by immigration officers at the Airport on February 24 after trying to flee to Dubai under the bogus name of Ravindu Varna Ranga.

Two Buddhist monks who later came to meet the suspect helped him escape from Police custody.

After the arrest of the suspect, the couple living in the Millaniya house who gave protection to him had also disappeared leaving only the pet dog behind.
