Sri Lankan political leaders should be given a scorecard on their performance similar to the (KPI) system that is evident in the private sector.

This was opined by President of CMI Sri Lanka Chapter and Senior Professor in Management at PIM, Prof Ajantha Dharmasiri at the launch of the much-awaited Global CEO Forum 2023 under the overarching theme of “Leadership in Turbulent Times,” which will be held on September 21 at Hotel Galadari.

Such KPI systems where a politician’s performance is evaluated and they are being made accountable for their actions are evident in some of the developed countries. “Sri Lanka should try to adopt a slimier scheme where the public will be able to find out if the politician stood up to potential.”

Prof. Dharmasiri also said that today Sri Lanka is facing a leadership crisis in the private sector due to many issues (including brain drain).

“The Global CEO Forum is an annual assembly of esteemed executives and industry experts, fostering enlightening discussions, exchange of knowledge, and networking,” said key Chief Founder/CEO of GLOBAL CEO Forum, Anura Siriwardane. This event serves as a pivotal platform for the exchange of knowledge and networking, attracting forward-looking, results-driven business leaders from across the globe.

Kotaro Katsuki, Deputy Head of the Mission at the Japanese Embassy, will be the guests of honor.

Keynote addresses will be delivered by Hajar Alafifi, Chairperson of Unilever Sri Lanka; T. S. Prakash, President of the Indian CEO Forum, Colombo; Fang Jiadu, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Overseas Chinese Association; and Marie Antonia von Schönburg, Chief Delegate of the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka. Bhargava, will engage in a keynote discussion while President of the National Chamber of Exporters Jayantha Karunaratne and Managing Director of Medongo Health Pvt Limited, India, Balaji Krishnammagaru, shall also share their success stories amid challenging circumstances. The forum will also feature engaging panel discussions, with professionals in various fields.
