Port City Colombo advertised to Saudi Investment Ministry

Sri Lankan Ambassador to the Saudi Arabian Kingdom Ameer Ajwad met with the Saudi Arabian Investment for International Relations Deputy Minister and Saudi Investment Promotion Authority (SIPA) Deputy CEO Sara Al-Sayed and briefed her on the investment opportunities available in the Port City Colombo.

Ajwad also handed over details of a wide range of business investment opportunities and incentives available in the Port City Colombo which is a multi-services special economic zone (SEZ) designed with state-of-the-art infrastructure and leveraging strategic international connections by land, sea, and air routes. Both sides agreed to further pursue the discussion and take steps for future course of action in this regard. Ajwad also briefed Al-Sayed on investment opportunities readily available in Sri Lanka in other sectors such as agriculture, aquaculture, tourism, ICT pharmaceutical and invited Saudi investors to explore such expanding lucrative investment opportunities for win-win benefits of both the nations. Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia recently signed a MoU for promoting direct investments and to improve the investment environment of both countries through policy and legal reforms.
