Port TUs get Injunction Order against planned action

An Injunction Order was issued by the Colombo District Court against the Trade Unions of The Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) preventing staging any trade union action that hinders the continuation of the operations of SLPA.

The order was issued by Colombo Addition District Judge H.M.B.R.Wijerathna after considering a petition which was filed seeking an order preventing the Trade Union Actions planned to be staged today(28) by several Trade Unions of SLPA.

The Injunction Order has been issued to the leaders of several trade unions of SLPA and its employees to prevent any trade union action or strike in violation of the collective agreement between the port workers and the authority.
