President arrives in country

President Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday morning returned to the country after concluding his official visit to the United States and Cuba.

He left the country on September 13 for Cuba to attend the G77+China Leaders’ Summit themed “Current Development Challenges: Role of Science, Technology and Innovation”.

President Wickremesinghe attended the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. On the sidelines of the UNGA in New York, the President also held discussions with a number of Heads of State including US President Joe Biden, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheik Hasina, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwer Ibrahim and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
